had to reformat harddrive, reloaded 98, had to purchase and install new modem to get online. can not get sound, only 16 colors, 640x480 pixels. i am thinking i lost all hardware drivers.  win 98 wont recongnize but how do i recover from this without spending alot of money.  ...

If I'm encoding at 128kpbs to playback on a portable player, which codec should I use: WM9STD or WM9PRO
- do today's typical portable players decode both
- which makes smaller files
- which generally sounds better

I had to basically restore my c drive but I left my D drive intact where I store my music. now everytime I open an OMG file that I downloaded from a c.d, it tells me error message. how can I get these files to open again.. desperately greatfull!!
