Have removed & re-installed codecs but to no avail

I could have sworn that before I was able to choose which
bits of info I wanted displayed at the top if my media
library. In the bar where you can sort by artist, title,
length, etc., I thought you could decide what you want

I recently had a French exchange student living at my home. He conveniently changed the language setting on my Windows Media Player to French.
How do I change the language setting in Windows Media Player back to English?
I cannot find the language setting.
Everything is in french ...

When i put a cd into the drive xp used to ask me which
program to I want to use to run the cd. ie real player /
windows media etc. It no longers asks me. How do it get
