After windows did its auto update, I now have two identical logon icons at
the start menu?

In my domain, I recently switched myself to an Administrator instead of just
a user. However, on Vista Business, it never made the change. How do I fix
this? I've tried deleting the account and profile and starting over with no
luck.

I upgraded from XP Pro to Vista Ultimate today.  Everything worked fine for a
couple hours.  Then a strange Blue Screen (no writing...just vertical dashed
lines)...computer shut down and upon restart my pfoile appeared to be
overwritten with the same name & domain; but nothing in ...

When my Vista Business machine returned from fixing hardware faults I found
that Sony had listed themselves as the main account holder and named the
machine Sony
I changed the name in all the possible and normal places through the control

New ISP = new email address.  Changed email address in profile and received
verification email from MS at the new address.  Clicked on link which took me
to login.  Screen defaulted to old address - I changed it to new address and
could not login.  So...must login with old email ...

No, this isn't another case of the administrator account being disabled
(well, yes it is but I have a bigger problem). The only administrator
account on the computer is the ASPNET account, which does me no good at all.
The Administrator account isn't a logon choice in Safe Mode.

hey guys i hve 2 account on my pc one for my wife and mine....for some reason
when she tries to log into her side all she gets is a black screen and
nothing will load...and when i do it on my side i have no problems....i tried
restarting pc and still she cant get into her side .. ...

but when i do that some things do not work proper

We have a situation where we need to recover a customers data from a Hard
Drive that has a corrupt Vista installation. Our workshop only uses XP based
machines, (we will not convert to Vista) and we can mount the Vista volume
and see files and folders, but cannot take ownership ...

I would like to know if I am able to change the setting for a guest where
they are unable to log on to the internet but  still have the other user on
the system be able to still log on to the internet? I am sure that is is
really simple but I cannot find the setting for this.
