My wife and I have been unable to Login & repeatedly get the above message. I have looked on all the relevant threads noting the above and can't find a solution because each solution requires 1) accessing "Start", 2) accessing msconfig, 3) setting up a second administrator.

A standard user account has disappeared as a login option. It's also not listed under the user accounts on my control panel. HOWEVER, the files are still all there under C:\users etc and it is still listed in the registry editor

I need permission is C:/windows (the entire windows folder) So that i can remove notepad.exe and put in notepad++.exe It also needs to be done inside the /windows/system32 folder thats why i need permission to the entire windows folder.
