I seem to recall it being possible in previous CTPs to edit file metadata
directly in the bottom pane of an Explorer window, but that doesn't appear
to be possible now in Beta 2. You have to click on the Edit link now to get
the old style summary tab in the properies dialog where ...

Hello, Please can you tell me how I can add entries into the hosts file.
Every time I try and save the modified file I a message saying that I don't
have permission. I have also tried making sure the folder "etc" is not set
to read only but I still get access denied.

All I know about WinFS right now (other than the fact that it's not ready
for primetime) is that it's some sort of SQL tie-in to the filesystem and/or
perhaps all Vista these indexes. It's not a filesystem per se, like NTFS is

maybe you already know: if you logon with a non admin user and then try to
perform a file operation using explorer that requires elevated rights you
will get the elevated dialog but the file operation will fail even if you
provide correct credentials for an admin user.

Can we please have a better facility for renaming multiple files?
Something with search-&-replace and string templates that you see in all
those photo-managers (ACDSee etc.) out there.
