Disk Usage in Vista RC130 Oct 2006 19:58 GMT1
I installed Vista RC1 last week on an old PC and, for the most part, the
experience has been great. I'm getting the full "Ultimate" version,
including Aero. And the performance is actually better than XP.
However, I do have one puzzling issue that I'm hoping someone can help me

reording Favorite Links25 Oct 2006 20:54 GMT2
Why can't I reorder some of my favorite links?  For example, when I create
one for Documents, Videos, or Music, it always goes to the top of the list,
and maybe I don't want it at the top?   This started in RC1, where I
discovered if I deleted all my favorite links, and then ...

Loss of functionality compared to XP24 Oct 2006 23:01 GMT8
In WinXP I can open a command window, drag a file system folder from Windows
Explorer to the window, and the path is appended to the command line. Very
useful when I'm using utilities such as Robocopy, which as a network admin
is many times each day. This functionality has ...
Lost Files24 Oct 2006 19:26 GMT1
I recently upgraded my system to Vista RC2.  All would appear to be well,
however, I seem to have lost the majority of my files from an external USB
drove (300 gig).  The folders are there, but are reported to be empty,
however the disk reports 73 gig in use, so I think they are ...
Move the "home" folder location24 Oct 2006 15:06 GMT1
I'd like to set up an account with a profile which has a home folder on a
different partition -- not  in  c:\users.  I've tried changing the Home
folder "local path" location in Computer Management > Local Users and Groups
> Users > (accountname) > Properties > Profile.
search problem in RC124 Oct 2006 15:03 GMT1
The document search feature in RC1 isn't working for me. It's not finding
files that I know have the search word in them. I've checked my indexing
settings, even rebuilt the index. I'm pretty sure it worked before, although
that may have been Beta 2. Any ideas?
Locked out of My Music24 Oct 2006 04:19 GMT12
I have upgraded to Vista RC1 from XP Home. I noticed that folders such as My
Pictures and My Videos have been renamed to Pictures and Videos as they
should be, but My Music remained as it was. I attempted to access My Music,
but was told that I do not have permission to view the ...
