I found a trick to remove the text from a desktop icon by holding Alt and
typing "255" in the name field to add a space as the title.  
I tried this on a random folder created on my desktop.  It worked, but now I
want to delete the folder.  When I try to delete it, nothing happens ...

I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate RTM and Office 2007 RTM.
The indexing service is set to index all mails in all mailboxes.
Outlook is saying that 2000 mails remain for indexing, the indexing gui in

Sometimes, when I open a folder, all of the icons will be missing the text
underneath.  For example, when I open C: under My Computer, the icons for
"Windows" and "Program Files" will be there but the actual words will be
missing.   If I re-open C:,  the words might appear, or ...

How can I save the path when I want to open the same folder many times?
Eveytime I want to open the same folder I have to go through the whole path
again because it does not save the path I'm working with.

I just installed Vista ultimate and (as I did with XP) I kept my 'my
documents'filder on a separate drive. When I assigned the 'documents'folder
of Vista to that folder (in my case E:\_my Documents_) all files in that
folder were gone, just the subfolders remain..

Whenever I try to do a cut and paste, windows explorer crashes.  It doesn't
matter if I am doing it between 2 windows or copy, then navigate to the new

All folders on my computer containing music will not open without me manually
clicking "explore". If I try a simple double-click, a pop-up appears

If you delete a shortcut of a program into the Recycle Bin, it always give
an annoying confirmation saying that deleting the shortcut is not the same
as uninstalling the program. But I already know this! This was such an
annoyance in XP and it's still here in Vista.

I deleted a number of files on a removable hard drive and now realized that
I would like them back.  I was wondering whether there was a recycle bin in
removable drives and how I would undelete the files?

I am running the final release version of Vista as a regular user (not
admin). In Explorer I see a folder with the path c:\Users\Me\Documents where
I have stored all of my documents. However, when I open a command prompt and
cd c:\Users\Me\Documents the folder cannot be found. ...
