There appear to be file backups made of my original Windows XP install when I upgraded to Vista Home Premium. Is it required that the directories be maintained or can they be deleted once things seem to be in working order and no plans to revert.

I do not know why but when I right click and select new shortcut nothing happens. As this is the first time I have tried to create a shortcut I do not know when or what I did to cause it, or maybe it is not what I have done?

If I move data from one partition to another one, through an Acronis TrueImage backup, will the NTFS permission be transferred as well, or will they be reset to the standard permissions already set on the target partitions?

After having Vista since 2/1, I am running into more minor file/directory problems(See list at end). No one has posted any solutions. I did try: Startup Repair from VISTA CD and SFC /SCANNOW(System File Checker)! Please note that everything works fine
