Is there a way in Vista to change the datestamp on a file? I've got a
bunch of pictures of my 2 year-old daughter (yes, I'm an obnoxious
father of the worst kind :) ) and I'd like to change the date on some
of the photos. Apparently the original dates have somehow been changed

Hi, I have a lot of eml emails that were created by the program
windows live mail desktop. search works fine from within that
program. but, I can't do a vista search and find any of these emails.

I can't select multiple files in the Download folder. This problem only occur
with this folder. Is it only me or is it a new restriction introduce by
Microsoft on Vista? Its really bothering me cause I can only move one file at

Hi, when I put in a keyword (not a program in the start menu) in this
box, I don't get any results. When I then hit the see all results bar, it
opens a window and starts searching and I get results. but it doens't bring
up emails in the search.

I have just copied my documents from my old XP installation into the  
“Documents”
folder of Vista Home Premium, however they  also show up in the “User”
folder, appearing as if  there were two copies of each!

Does anyone know how to turn off the most annoying feature that is the
automatic selection of files and folders in explorer, when you hover
your mouse over them? I never want items selected unless I left click

I have an Adobe Captivate file on my desktop that I cannot delete. When I
drag it to the Trash, it runs and runs without letup. I have tried to copy

My problem is, when I drag and drop to move a folder of 20GB of photos to a
different subfolder on my C drive of my Dell D820 laptop running Vista
Ultimate, there is a dialog box which says "Calculating time remaining".

Can you recommend a Vista compatible partition manager?  I have Vista on
"c," XP on "d" and a back drive on "e."  I shrunk XP to a smaller size as I
don't all the slack space left, but I cannot increase Vista's drive space.

I used to be able to type a application name, like 'calc' in the search box
and it would return the application. Now for some reason it no longer finds
