I had a perfectly functioning external hard drive until I tried to
back up some fileson my main drive by copying them over to it. The
copy function stalled when it was calculating the size of of the
transfer (at least that is what it said it was doing) so I finally

I have just reinstalled windows vista ultimate and I am having a small but
irritating problem.
The problem I am having is that all my cursor files do not show the
contents, all it shows is a generic icon of the program that opens my cursor

In my profile is the Documents folder which until a certain point used the
default Vista ICON to display. I have not changed any ICONs manually on my
sysytem but now this folder icon is locked as a standard folder icon instead
of the pretty VISTA version I had.

Is there a fix for Vista remembering folder view settings yet ? Currently
Vista does not remember all folder view settings (this is an established
problem and I have not seen any viable fixes).

Why can't I sort Music or Photos by date.  When I select detailed view, I
see no dates. All I see is Artist, Album, etc. I tried classic view, but had

I am using the right click menu to send folders to the desktop as links.
The strange thing is that  when I right click on the link on the desktop,
the highlighted default item is MOVE or RENAME AUDIO FILES.  There are no WAV
files or other audio material in any of the folders that ...

I can't right click on either the desktop or within Windows Explorer.  Either
way Windows Explorer hangs, stops working and restarts without me ever seeing
the right click menu.  Any ideas what's going on?

I made a slide show with music in Vista DVD maker and it leaves the
DVD open.  Will not play on my TV DVD player.  After several attempts
with the same results I copied one of the disks into Roxy and burned a
copy from roxy that did close and is playable on a seperate DVD
