Vista has stoped generating new preview tumbnails, for videos. I don't know

I have a number of external drives on my laptop, Lacie USB, PCMCIA Compact
Flash, Jump Drive etc.
I am always plugging the Lacie USB drive into the same port.

Ever heard of this?  I have a new system loaded with Vista Home Premium.  The
problem starts with the Picture folder not being accessable in its original
location, what happens now is that the c:\users\name\pictures\ folder looks
something like this.
