I use Windows Vista Premium. And I have a bunch of files in various locations which I am unable to find. Is there any way I can view every single file all at once on my computer? Thanks.

I used to be able to open a file from Documents or Recent Documents and other places and just double click on the file and it opened. Now though, I have to be in the program that the file is associated with to be able to open it. I hate this. But I don't know what changed or how ...

Admittedly I may have done something to cause this but I can not get it right: Vista Home premium, 32 bit. New User, new PC. Had all data and music files on external HDD's.

I have a problem trying to restore data from a 750 GB WD drive installed in a USB/SATA enclosure. The drive worked fine in my previous notebook (which died) running Vista Business, but didn't appear in another XP machine. I don't know why.

I'm having trouble with shortcuts not working (not doing anything) in Vista. About as much as I can explain is that shortcuts with greyed out fields don't work, but shortcuts with all the fields editable work fine. Examples below.

I recently was looking at my desktop when I noticed that I no longer had on the "Gadgets" sidebar. I found it useful and i tried to see if I could get it back. I'm not quite sure what to do to regain access to this feature. Maybe I just am looking in all the wrong places?
