I can't tell you how close to tears I come with Vista.
I have a vast number of PDF and Word documents that I must constantly use -
rearrange - organize - categorize...
If I am using the "Details" view - I can't look at the titles of the files

Hello I'm using Windows Vista.  I use Firefox to browse the web instead of
IE, so I don't need to see the Favorites folder displayed in my user folder
in Windows Explorer (or whatever it's called in Vista - i'm talking about

I'm having a problem with the above newsgroup only. I have no new posts

When I double click on my files in Windows Explorer the files won't open. I
have to quad drupel or mass click for them to open. What could be the cause
of this non responsive explorer. This is also can happen on the internet and
on numerous apps.

How can I make folders show file size (in the details view) by default
also for audio and video listings. As it is now, it only shows name,
artist, album, genre etc (frankly, pretty un-interesting information
for me almost all of the time).

I changed the program that opens my zip files, and want to change it back so
it works as zip files. What program do I tell it to "open with", and how do I
find it?

The built in search version for Vista (I have Vista Business 64 bit)
doesn't search pdfs.  I have Acrobat version 8.1.2.  I read about a
problem on this but the solution was to update.  Any ideas?

I ran *sfc /scannow. It ran all the way and then shut down with no
message.* Does that mean my system is ok.

name was too long.  When I right click on the file, I do not get the RENAME
option.  So I am stuck with a file in Temporary Files that will not move and

so the other day I accidentally messed up something with the properties
of all of my folders.... In the attributes I must have clicked on
something, not sure what, but now I'm missing a great deal of
information.... I tried doing a system restore, but it has only brought

This has happened 4 times with Vista:
A word on the Desktop is opened, modified, saved and closed.  
Then, the word file is opened but it is showing an earlier version of the
file.
