Although this has pretty much worked for months, today (and a couple of weeks
ago), I double click on a network drive in Win Explorer and get this err msg:

Is there a free XP style search tool I can download?
The XP search tool was is so much easier to use.

I migrated with easy transfer from an XP to Vista computer, but I had been
using the new Vista computer for a month before migrating, so I had a month's
worth of new e-mails.  After the migration, my new e-mails are gone.  Can I
get them back somehow without a system restore?  If ...

When I give a file a new name and save it under the new file name, the
filename that I have inserted in  the footer does not update itself.
It does update in Excel.
Does anyone know how I could set this up so it does update the filneam int

I'm interested in if this issue has been solved?  That is, why is it
happening to begin with?

I have a business card I made in windows, saved in my desktop. It has clip
art on it and is finished. I need to email it to someone for an ad. She
called today to say that she has an older version of windows and needs me to
convert it to a pdf. How do I do this??

I seem to have deleted my trash bin. No clue how I did this but it happened.
I went into control panel and just dragged it back on to my desktop but it's
coming up as hidden and invisible. How do I fix this and get it back to
normal?

I love the 'Recent Places' link in the common file dialogs in Vista.  I'd really like to add it to the 'Favorite Links' list in windows explorer.

I have office 2003 professional and vista ultimate. Preview pane in explorer
previews pictures music and even adobe pdf files but willl not do office docs
from word or excel. microsoft support says it does not do them ...

Hi, I am on Vista 64 SP1 Home Version.
Under Computer, the Local Disk C: shows I have used 57GB of C drive.
But in C Drive, I highlighted all the folders and hit properities, it
shows only about 47 or so GB. I have enalbed display all hidden files

Hello there, I recently got a new computer with Vista Home Premium
32bit, and have been participating in the warhammer online closed beta
test, recently the game has stopped working due to the AppHangB1 Error,
here is the error report I get everytime I try to play.

I've recently had a rather disturbing experience with Vista Backup.
I recently had to restore my D: (data) drive from a full file backup.
The backup was only a day old, so no data should have been missing.
The restore seemed to work fine, however when I started Thunderbird it

I decided to format my computer then I copied my document, my pictures, my
music and downloads folder to another partition drive's 'backup' folder.
Before I format my C drive, I checked copied files are safe and I can access
all of files.

Im trying to setup a backup in Vista, but I don't want the system to monitor
certain locations, such as my download folder and others such as where I
have subversion repositories and change too fast and too often.
Is that even possible ?
