I have a 320 GB drive in a USB external converter (the big plastic shell
that turns any IDE drive into a USB 2.0 drive).
I did something I shouldn't have done, I just pulled the plug instead of

I am having a terrible experience with getting the "Windows Search" service
to start/run. I would greatly appreciate advice/suggestions for finding a
"fix" for it.  
Here are the details so far.

I always have to open up microsoft office to access any of its programs which
I have recently used. I should be able to access these by clicking on start
then the program in the recent list this must be a vista problem as it does
not occur on my PC which has an XP operating ...

Every time I do a search I get "ghostly" files.. I deleted a folder but all
of the files that were in that folder still appear.  I try deleting them and
I get a message saying the folder doesn't exist and thus I can't delete
it/them.  Anyone have any ideas?

I tried a Quicken user group, but was directed here.

I removed rights from admins to a folder and I am unable to make any
