Microsoft Outlook Files with Vista and XP31 Aug 2008 21:16 GMT5
I am VERY new at Outlook, and I am working on a Vista desktop but have
an XP laptop.  Can I somehow use a flash drive to transfer the Outlook
data from this desktop to the laptop each day?  I just don't want to
mess up anything.  Thank you in advance!
Display Folders and Files on seperated locations in one Folder.31 Aug 2008 12:26 GMT1
I have a WHS (1 Tb) and a large network Icybox drive (1 Tb). General folders
like Documents, Music, Pictures, etc. are on both drives. Now I would like
to see the contents of f.i. the Documents folder from both drives in one and
the same folder. If I click on an item, it should ...

Disk management console view is not up-to-date30 Aug 2008 15:52 GMT2
I have stumbled on a problem that is reported in many forms in different
forums, but it is always blamed to something else or not solved.
Problem: Not possible to extend a volume, because in the final step the
Extend Volume Wizard reports (after clicking Finish):
Vista does not find files!!!!!29 Aug 2008 19:52 GMT11
I have Vista w/SP1 installed on two machines and have seen this "file
search is completely broken" problem on each.  This is so incredibly
weird and stupid, and I'm very pissed that Vista won't even produce
results for a simple file search.
Vista uses offline file while connected to network29 Aug 2008 19:10 GMT1
My offline files work fine when I am offline, but I am never sure once I
connect to the network if I am using the offline copy or the network
copy. If I do a manual sync it seems to make the connection and use the
network files for awhile but then later, without disconnecting from ...
Restore Vista backup files to an XP machine?29 Aug 2008 17:50 GMT1
I have been using Windows Backup to secure files on a Vista Home Premium
laptop to a disk on my XP desktop.  Three days ago the laptop fried its
mainboard and is now in hospital.  Of course we are all hoping for a speedy
recovery, but meantime all the files are tucked away in  ...
Acronis and Vista29 Aug 2008 17:07 GMT4
My 100Gb laptop drive is getting crowded and I am going to upgrade to a 250.
Previously with my desktop, I used Acronis to do a full backup to a USB
drive, made a bootable CD rom with USB drivers, replaced the existing
drive with the 250, and booted up from the CD.  At that point ...
How to delete the list of backup dates from Vista Ultimate29 Aug 2008 15:07 GMT1
I've re-organised my files and folders so I deleted the last full system
backup and 3 incremental backups of files and folders in preparation
prior to running a new system backup. I've used the tutorials on Vista
Forums to edit the registry so that now when I go to Backup and ...
Why do my postings not appear in this list?28 Aug 2008 14:36 GMT2
I have posted a couple of messages over the last couple of days. And, at
least one of them was answered by someone. But, when I view the list, I
don't see my own postings. Hmmm
I'm using Vista, Microsoft Mail as the newsreader.

Hi,
On advice from another thread I tried using SyncToy to back up
documents to an external hard drive. After one successful go, the next
times it only says "exception during run: the File Sync Provider

Program Files Folder in two partitions27 Aug 2008 02:20 GMT4
I use Vista 64bit, by default my computer came with two physical hard drives,
one named D:\ (Os) and D:\ (Data) I own a 750GB external drive, where I
located all my docs, pictures, music... So the "D" Drive stills empty.
Meanwhile the "C" Drive is short of space, because all ...

I have Vista on my laptop and hate it. I want to add FAVORITES to internet

I use to go to my documents and paste it into the favorites file. I cannot
find anything like that. I found an Import Favorites tab, but that would only
Reordering Files26 Aug 2008 10:30 GMT4
Is there a way to stop Vista reordering files every time you change the name
of one?  I often have to go down a long list of files changing their names to
fit our cataloging system (I use Details view).  Every time you change one,
it moves.  This makes the whole process pretty ...
