I downloaded a software file and my security software changed the file type
from *.exe to *.efw.  I need to rename the file to an exe file but have not
been able to do so.  If I right-click on the file and click rename, I can

I recently copied over my browseui.dll, and explorer.exe files, and I
forgot to make backups and I want to switch them back, so I would like

I preface this by saying that I only have a rudimentary knowledge of
batch files. Also, I searched high and low for this information before

Out of curiosity I searched my hard drive  *.msc. The search returned over
70 msc files but most were the same file but in different locations. Some

i have some questions about search history in windows vista :
1. i wonder if "Windows Search"(windows logo button + F) stores a
history of my previous done searches. Can you please tell me where does

I just have a quick question; I am using 3rd party software to move
music from my ipod to my computer.  However, recently, I copied several
folders over to my itunes folder, realized they didn't have the proper
labeling they had on the ipod, and so I decided to delete them and start

-I was going through my folders and in my doctemp folder I have four
folders f3644, kp319,up839,uu480. Can I get rid of these? most of the
file are little dell GIF images and JPEGS, the uu480 is a veiw of my PC.
Or should I leave them.-

Not sure if this is the right group for this question or not, but it's

I recently deleted some downloads but the shortcuts still show up when I type
the name into search. The path is
recent items (c:\users\admin\appdata\roaming\microsoft\windows)
but when I attempt to delete the file, I get an error message saying that

I use Vista Home Basic.
Whenever I use Recent Items (under Start selection) for re-running previous
documents, I always get
old items sorted out by 'abc' order.

I'm experiencing a strange problem.
I have two Vista biz pcs, one is a laptop and the other is a desktop.
I have prchased a network RAID drive for backups and storage and I have
created 3 volumes over this drive.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium.
A weird problem is being faced. I had created a folder in my Documents
folder, and after I had finished with it, I deleted it. But it refuses to
stay deleted, It keeps recreating itself every time I start the machine. I
