Direct X doesn't seem to be up to date in Vista yet.  I have a lot of recent
games which need the latest updates for Direct X 9 which were last released
in June 2006.  These updates are missing from Vista Beta at the moment.
The missing files are D3dx9_24.dll through to D3dx9_30 ...

i installed doom3 this weekend and tried to play. it was playable but the
graphics was nothing like it was under win XP, should i install directX 9.0.

When I try to run Freecell, Hearts, Mahjong, Minesweeper, Purble Place,
Solitaire and Spider Solitaire, I just get a black screen. The headers for
the windows say "gamename - Loading Resources", then that changes to just
"gamename" but the window remains black. Only Chess Titans ...

I have Bf2 installed and works except its very very chopper nad i am using
the same settings as in xp and it ran great. is there any reason for this or
anything i can change or is it just cause its vista? anyone else have this

I use a monitor that is natuaraly dark so usually I turn up the gamma in
games or by ATI control center, oddly in Vista this doesnt seem to work, in
all of my games save one the built in gamma and brightness controls along

I installed HL2: Ep. 1 on Vista, and there is a slight graphical bug. I'm
wondering if this is due to my card or Vista (I didn't play Ep.1 when my PC
had XP on it). Basically when I get closer than 5 feet to Alyx her hair and
