Overall poor performance with this game. I have a custom machine... AMD X2
4400+ on an Asus nForce 4 SLI Premium board with 2Gigs of corsair RAM and a
nVidia GeForce 7800GTX 256. A few issues come up:

Every time I try to install Civilization IV on my computer, it keeps saying
that DirectX 9.0c June 2005 Edition on my computer, and it does not install.

I am dual booting with XP so no chance of keeping system restore.  I am

I've set my vista to play as xp for everquest. However when I go to log on I
get the error d3dx9_30.dll. Is it safe to load up dx9 on vista? It is
currently running on 10 so I'm a bit hesitant to load up an old xp active x
control on to vista.
