How can I delete my saved games? Any one?

I am getting a new gaming system and am wondering which OS people prefer for

Last night I played it and saved it all and quit. Today when I went to
go play it again, none of the families I created were saved and it was
just like when I first installed it :/

The game no longer plays for more than a short while. Continually shutting
down. The time has been getting shorter and shorter playing time. First off
being able to play for hours. Any thoughts?

Just graduated up to a Vista system (Dell XPS 720).  In playing games, I
noticed in Vista when I hit the ESC key to skip an animation it does
nothing.  In XP, this was a valued feature for skipping various intro
animations and worked under XP.  

I'm a long-time user of Windows but new to Vista.  This "how to" video seems
to be pretty helpful, but there are some things in it that make me wonder if
it is really from Microsoft.  Would appreciate hearing what the gurus here
