Greetings: I have 3-cdroms and 5-hard drives attached to my system. c: and
3-cdrom are on the motherboard contoller and 4-harddrives or on an ATA-100
PCI controller. Drive info :
c:= 120gb  cd-1 = dvdrw   cd-2 = dvd  cd-3 = cdrw

I tried to use an external DVD drive since my internal one is not working and

Just thought I'd post this for everyone:
When I first installed Vista nothing was working, no sound, no  ethernet
etc.
So I tried installing them from the CD but the CD wanted me to have XP.

There are no Vista drivers specifically for the Envy chipset yet.   Vista
accepted and installed the XP drivers and says that the device is functioning
properly.  I see output going to the drivers but there is no sound.  
Has anyone gotten a system with Envy Audio working?

It really is unfortunate that so many of us are having trouble with Soundmax
drivers, so again i'll say it, use the Soundmax utility and select stereo as
your output for your speakers, it works well and if you don't fiddle with
SPDIF and other settings it is aout 85% stable.
