way to manually edit what drivers startup calls?09 Sep 2006 15:45 GMT3
is there a way to manually tell vista to load the USB drivers during boot-up?
I think the issue is just that since im not deep enough into the OS (at
initial setup for first boot) the drivers just havent been called. any
suggestions?

I have a 5-months old Acer Tarvelmate 8104WLMi that's always been running
Windows XP flawlessly. But each time I try a new Vista release (Beta 1, Beta
2, Pre-RC1) the filesystem of the Vista NTFS partition gets corrupted after a
few hours of use.

I have a canon i865-printer normaly connected to my w2k file/printer server.
When trying to install that printer under vista 64 bit, that is to be
reported impossible do to no compatible driver.
However when connecting the printer locally, vista identifies the printer,

I am getting Blue Screen of Death many times per day after a good install of
Vista2.  How do I diagnose and fix this - it is driving me crazy.
Blue screen pops up at random moments and then the system crashes and
restarts.  Also am getting screen freezes requiring reboot. HELP!

Hi I Have a nvidia 6600  256mb card I was wondering if anyone was able to
get it to boot in Vista RC-1 with aero glass interface in normal windows

I should know the answer to these two questions, and would probably find them
if I searched long enough, but I figured I’d go strait to the source instead.
Here goes:
I tested Vista Beta 2 extensively using my primary PC, but on a completely

test pc hardware meets/exceeds Vista requirements:  2 SATA hdds, 2 IDE hdds,
2 IDE DVDs
Vista [b. 5384] would not load on IDE drive, so I loaded it on the other
SATA drive [XP Pro is on the other], BIOS sees all drives, when booting into

i installed RC1 and when it gets to the point where you configure the OS for
the first boot it will not recognize my wireless usb kb/mouse. As a product
Im stuck.. cant get into safe mode since it says safe mode cant configure the
OS, no ps/2 ports (ps/2 through usb adapter also ...

None of the ATK0110 drivers which worked with Beta 2 or with XP x64 seem to
work with Vista RC1 x64. Has anyone solved this?  All help gratefully

When running Vista my system becvomes very hot and unaccepatble noisy, due
to the fact that "Cool & Quit power" management is not working.
I surched the amd site and the net for a compatible AMD CPU driver, but
I am affraid that that very essential driver is not yet available

Strange...  I'm testing Vista on my laptop (RC1).  It's got an ATI Mobility
Radeon 9200 in it and it's using the microsoft drivers (version
6.0.5536.16385)
By default windows set's my screen resultion to 1024 x 768 @ 60hz.  This
