Hi.
I got vista today and installed it as a clean install. Once it was installed
and running I received an error message stating "Windows detected a hard disk
problem" and it then asks to start the backup process or ask me again later.

Will I have to reinstall all the drivers when i do a clean install of vista.
For instance, will i have to reinstall the drivers for my dvd drive, built
in speakers etc? WI-FI reciever drivers? Or will this be done for me.

I have many things saved to a Sandisk MiniCruzer USB drive, and it seemed to
work perfectly on Weds when i installed Vista on my computer, but now Vista
won't read it. Vista recognizes it, and adds it to the "Remove Hardware"
icon, and says that the driver is fine, but will not ...

Am using release version of Vista Ultimate. It doesn't recognize my 1Gb USB
memory stick or my Belkin 7 port USB hub. Is there anything I can do to fix
this?

I installed Vista Enterprise on my laptop and I am having USB problems.
Device manager shows the entire USB bus working correctly however the OS does
not recognize any USB device, camera, flash drive, etc... no indication the
OS even sees it connected. Appears as if ports are ...

I cant get to my shared folder on my NAS Drive. It wont map either. But I
can get to all the settings.
It shows in Network places.
The vendors software wont run on Vista.

How do I set the "powersetting" in RC2 to let my AMD 4800+ X2 make use of
Cool'n'quiet?
In WindowsXP it should be set at "Minimal Power Management", but there is no
such setting in Vista (or at least I can't find it). Will I have to get a

Check the BIOS settings for ACPI...are they on? acpi subcomponents are
required....

This is part of my first impressions of Vista--I have an evaluation copy of

I have had my swap file set-up on a Excelstor ES3230 hard drive and my
performance of vista has at times been slower than I would have expected.  I
have now changed the swap file to my other hard drive, a ST360015a, and seen
an improvement in performance.
