hi im running a vista sony laptop and have been using a 4 gig byte thumb

We have a gadge device that uses an RS232 serial adapter that we would like
to connect it to our Windows Vista computer. We are trying to import data
from the gadge into an excel spreadsheet.

I have disabled the filter keys in vista.  However, they randomly turn on and
off whenever I'm typing.  Whenever I check on the keyboard settings they are
never turned on however my keyboard will randomly type like they are.  It is
extremely frustrating.  Any suggestions?

  I had 4 2GB sticks of  667 Mhz RAM left over from upgrading a couple of
pcs to 800 Mhz RAM so I pulled out the 3 GB 800 Mhz RAM from my Vista
Ultimate x64 PC and put in the 8 GBs of 667 Mhz RAM.  It seems to work ok
after a couple of re-boots but.......it is quite a bit slower ...

I know there are any number of posts about transfer speeds but I haven't
seen to many solutions so I thought I would put this out there.
I am getting transfer speeds in the range of 221KB/s from Lacie Porsche
external firewire to internal SATA.  That's around 3-4 hours for a 4 gig

My usb ports are not recognizing any usb devices, I hv tried lots of
troubleshooting, but all to no good, I hv also read in threads were people
point the driver installation to c:\windows... n it solved their
problem............. can someone plz tel mii how to point the driver
