How do I password protect Windows Mail in Microsoft vista?

The paper clip ikon shows when there is not any attachment.  I
understand that this is caused by using AVG Free to scan the incoming
e-mail.
Does anyone know if I upgrade to the full paid version of AVG will this

Everytime I open up Mail (Vista Enterprise), I get the following error: "The
server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be
verified."  I know that if I press yes, I can proceed normally but this is a
huge annoyance.

When I try to delete messages in the deleted items folder I get a message of
unknown error has occurred.  The original message also can't be displayed.
