With XP I liked to open more than one media player at a time. In Vista I
can't find a way.
I like to listen to our local NPR radio station online while working with
other media or video files at the same time.

I've noticed a number of "TV Tuner Not Found" issues on this board after

NVIDIA GeForce 6600 (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM) card. I updated the TV
Tuner drivers library (for Vista) from Sony website (3 ...
Constant skipping in Media Player 1108 Feb 2007 15:09 GMT8
Whenever I play anything in media player from MP3s to DVDs, it's really
choppy, even if media player is the only thing running.  I may not have a
supercomputer, but I'm pretty confident that Vista x64 + playing music can't
be more demanding than recent games like Half-Life 2, etc ...

it. It's very basic, but really slick for quick DVD creation. I ...

With Vista I am hoping to use the Photogallery and Media Center tools rather
than the miscellaneous software  products that came with the devices used in
XP..
Photogallery for example seems to point to the following folder.

When playing a DVD in Windows Media Center in fullscreen mode, if I turn on
the subtitles for the DVD, they are made transparent.  Unfortunately, they
tend to be too transparent and blend in with the DVD picture, making them
