I've had this laptop for alittle over 4 months, nothing has gone wrong until

I have the problem in Movie Maker where if you add transitions or music to
the project, the timeline will not playback until you remove the effect that
you added (and sometimes you have to remove previously added transitions to
get the playback function to return). I have tried ...

How do I edit my video so the clips and songs finish at the same time? I have
about 2 minutes at the end of my video without any clips/photos showing after
the credits have finished.

Windows Media Player had been able to add files to the library instantly, but
after I installed VLC Player it refused to add any file in the subfolders of
the managed folder to the library. Then I tried to make WMP the default
program (again) for all file types it can handle, but ...

I can not publish movies longer than 6 minutes on 6.0 Vista Home Premium.  
Made a movie and it published @5:59 and redone @6:01 and Stuck on 98%
complete.

I have a Dell desktop that came loaded with Vista Home Basic.  Anytime I play
music, either through iTunes, WMP, or CD, there is a noticeable periodic
stuttering every 40 seconds or so.  Will any new Vista Service Packs fix this
problem?  Or do I need to do something else?  BTW, ...

VistaSP1 WMP won't play any movie files ( MPG, AVI, MPEG, WMV)
WMP shuts down when any of these file types are selected
WMP will play audio files fine
Windows Media Center plays all of these movie files

I have Vista Business ed... 4GB of RAM and every time i try to save as a
Movie File, the program stops responding. I am only trying to save small
video files too.
I don't have any other movie editing or camera software installed except for

I burned 9 hours of music on an audio cd yesterday and it worked fine.
Now I need to burn another one with the same songs, minus a couple, and it
keeps showing in the burnlist that it will take multiple cds.  I don't think
I changed any setting.

On my old PC w/Windows XP, the Moviemaker preview monitor had an icon to
cut/split a video clip AND to take a snapshot. My new laptop has Windows
Vista Home Premium and Moviemake 6.0.6000.16386. In the preview monitor,
