I try to connect Vista RC1 to internet, but it fails. My workgroup is in a
domain, i have connection to the server and to all workgroups. In XP I give
in the IP the IP Adress of my router (so 192.168.10.49) and XP goes over

Why are netowrk shares so slow to show up?
If I type \\computer\sharename...
it takes over a minute to show the folder...  any other machine on the
network without vista is instantaneous...

Hi I installed windows Vista Ultimate RTM on an AMD Turion64 2Ghz processor
with 2GB of ram.
Everything is running very well except for explorer with network shares.  It
takes anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes to open a network folder.   The same

I have just installed Vista RC1 and connected to my wired network. I can
access the internet but not another of my other PCs on the network. I have
enabled network discovery and file sharing but that still does not work.

    i am experiencing strange problem in vista ultimate.  vista detects my
access point and for few minutes work fine but soon after that the signal
strength goes down and it disconnects .this problem never occured in windows
xp sp2 .

when we manually add a route via the cmd all is functional but it seems that
ms disabled the automatic routing of APIPA range over the default gw!

This is driving me nuts. I cannot get ping to wotk from my vmware machine
running NAT to the host machine(Vista). If I use bridged, it works.
Furthermore when I try to ping a large packet -l 2000 it will not go through

Has anyone been able to set up a wireless adapter for Vista x64?  I have a Zonet ZEW2500 P USB adapter that worked with one of the betas, but now I can't seem to get it installed.
