I supposed this is linked in to various posts including the 'Wireless Association due to an unkown error' query. Got an ADVENT 7109 laptop wit a REALTEK WLAN wifi driver built in. Wifi worked wonderfully under XP.

When trying to map a 98se machine, Visat wants me to input a user name and PW to connect to a 98SE machine. 98SE doesn't require a user name, and, if I give Vista the logon user name for 98se, Vista adds the \\Vista_name\usernamegiven.

Occasionally when Vista wakes from sleep mode I have no internet connection. Right clicking on the network icon and selecting "Diagnose and Repair" brings up a message stating "Layered Service Provider is outdated" it gives the option of removing the component or repairing.
