From my Vista machines I am unable to access file servers on our LAN using the computers name i.e. \\name. However I can access them by IP address i.e. \\X.Y.Z I am able to access desktop machines fine via name, just not file servers.

I have tried wireless gaming in Vista. I know I know you aren't supposed to use wireless connections when gaming but I can't not run an ethernet cable up two stories. My problem is that Vista searches for a "better connection" every minute.
