I have a Pentium 4 with HT, 2.0gb ddr2 ram, an nvidia geforce 7600gs and
Windows Vista build 5728. My processor supports 64-bit Windows. Can anyone
tell me if I would gain performance over the 32bit version of Vista if i
moved to 62-bit on this system.

I have bought a new pc and i am trying the Windows VISTA on my machine.
My machine is AMD Athelon 3500+ 64bit and 1GB RAM.
It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to login to windows.

I tried to uninstall PC-cillin using the Programs and Features Uninstall
button in the Control Panel and got the message "This is only for programs
that are installed" which was silly since it was installed. I couldn't delete

PC-cillin's antivirus program seems to hog the computer for the first 90
seconds or so after startup. It is so bad that one cannot even get Task
Manager to run until PC-cillin has reduced its load. A couple of other
programs fail because they cannot start in a reasonable time. ...

I installed RC1, made a backup of my files (Backup & Restore -> Backup
Files).
I later had to reinstall RC1 because of some driver issues. I then went to

I was playing an MP3 (320Kbs) in media player, whilst viewing some photos
(5MB JPEG) and every time I moved to the next photo the MP3 stuttered quite
badly. Sometimes the photos would initially blur for a couple of seconds

I have found it by search but it won`t let me run it. I HAVE TO OPEN TASKMGR
or else I will have to reboot my computer evey time something hangs.

Indexing was working fine on my machine in RC1 and i love it by the way,
anyway, all of a sudden i type a search in at the bottom of the start menu
and the search menu pops up with this "Your searches might be slow because
the index is not running. Click to turn on the index..." ...

I have Vista RC1 installed. When I try to install any application (like the
HP essentials for printer & scanner), even when I use the compatibility
wizard, the install is detecting the Operating System as Windows XP 64 bit
and complaining that it can not be installed on this ...
