Is it normal that if you do a full backup and a restore from the Backup and
Restore Center that your Windows Update history is empty and all automatic
and manual Restore Points are gone? My feeling is it shouldn't be that way?

I have 1.5gigs of ram.  Vista is sucking up 37% of it.  Is this normal?

Have more than one usb slot; if I connect more than one flash; can Vista use

I can get to the desktop, and after about 1-2 mins, the mouse starts to move
slowly, then it cuts out all together and I can't do a thing

I accidentally deleted Photo Gallery and every time I boot, Windows Installer
looks for it and can't find it.  Use Windows Installer so I'd like to keep it
active.
Is there a place I can get Photo Gallery to reinstall?

I'm running a clean install of RTM on a Pentium 4 2.8Ghz 1GB machine. There
is one svchost.exe process, hosting about 10 services, that is very often
taking 50% CPU and 70MB of memory. I really like the feature that takes me

In Windows XP my tasks were saved in C:\Windows\Tasks. I included this folder
in my daily backup. Where are my tasks saved in Vista RTM? Thanks in advance.

I thought NTLDR was removed from Vista, but today I got the crappy "NTLDR is

I assume this is a result of me dual-booting with XP, but I formatted the XP
drive a few days ago after deciding to use Vista RC1 exclusively.

I am getting an HP Media Center desktop computer, with AMD 64x2 5000+ with
Live, 2GB of RAM, and a 256mb video card. I HAVE a laptop with an ML-34
Turion 64, a 64mb video card, and 1GB of RAM. They will be connected via a
wirless network, and I am wondering several things:

i am sitting here, writing this mail, and while doing so my HD is working,
working and working .. i have no idea what is actually happening.
I have disabled indexing, i have closed the media player, i have stopped all
media center services and i cant think of anything besides ...

I have been getting repeated warnings that my Maxtor 40 GB HD is about to
fail, I have run all tools in Vista to check ( defrag,check disc, etc.) as
well as I have run Maxtors Power Max 4.23 which will certify thier Hard Drive
and even this application finds the hard-drive in ...

I made a clean install of vista business and xppro in two partitions on the
same disk (100gb each). Vista goes nice and smooth with all the bells and
whistles turned on and the fan noise is normal, ie up and down depending on
the workload.
