Memory Recognition31 Jan 2007 23:09 GMT3
Is there a limitation on the amount of memory recognized by Windows Vista?  I
know in the past Windows versions it would only show a maximum of 3000MB even
if you had more memory in the computer.  Thanks in advance for anyones help.
Shutdown / SLeep problem31 Jan 2007 12:56 GMT1
When I do shutdown via the start menu, it shows as shutting down and power
does go off. The odd part is (when AC plugged in and battery is 100%) if I
go turn this on 2 hours later or even less (without AC) battery shows about
85% - 91% level. Why does it lose about 10%-15%? This ...

Explorer has slowed down considerably. For example; loading My Computer can
take 15-20 seconds or opening the dialog to save an attachment from Outlook
even longer.

Display Driver Issue27 Jan 2007 03:39 GMT6
I own a Visiontek ATI X1300 PCI video card - note that it is NOT PCI express.

I'm going to be using wbadmin to do backups so they can be done on a

present, you are presented with following dialog:
"The backup could take up to 157 GB of disk space.  Because a previous

Sound26 Jan 2007 02:14 GMT6
The sound is really soft in Vista.  Updates says that I have the newest
drivers.  Intel 82801DB/DMB AC '97 Audio.  Would you know of any other
driver I could use?  I have the volume set to 100 and I can barely hear a
thing.

I tried using my 512Mb Kingston DataTraveller USB2.0 flash drive for the

Norton Partition Magic 8.X comes with Boot Magic for switching between OS's.
Do you know if this will work for dual booting XP SP2 and Vista, and avoid
the problems with system restore files, etc.
Unreliable Microsoft22 Jan 2007 23:53 GMT2
Yesterday I telephoned Microsoft to activate (for the 1000th time!) MS
Office. There was a long long pause then a voice said "I'm sorry, sir, all
our systems are down at the moment". I fell about laughing.
