Most likely I misunderstood this issue right from the start.
Question : When it comes to scheduled scanning, automatic updating etc,
the computer has to be turned on , or else it will wait till it's on.
Right or wrong ??

i am seeing jerky movement as i type, view a video, move my mouse.  Any

My computer seems to use too much memory at start up. I have two gigs of RAM
and It uses 45% of that. So, I went to Defender and do not recognize all of
the start up programs. How can I find out what they do? Like OSD Maestro? Or,
I have three different Installshield pragrams ...

When try set associations of protocol HTTP and HTTPS at IE7 these protocols
don't apears in list of protocols.
But when I install another browser, like Safari, apears associated to
Safari, but locked and when I ask to change preferencial program, IE7 is not

Can anyone help me? My sidebar gadgets have stopped working. They're there
but not displaying anything other than the default bitmap. Also my iGoogle
active content panes have stopped displaying. Similarly, if I try to install
anything that uses an IE window, I get no links or ...

Yesterday, I purposely left notebook turned on and did not use it for about
15 minutes. When I went to Control Panel/Backup and Restore Center and then
clicked on Restore Files, it stated: There are no backups available on this
computer.

My Acer started few days ago to show Blue screen. After restart, everything
seems OK, but then again - Blue screen.

This may have been an issue before but I can only seem to find a
solution to half of my problem. Cntrl+Alt+Delete will not open my task
manager. I can access the manager from the run command and by right
clicking the taskbar but of course this is a useless option when you are

I'm truly curious to know why there is such a difference. My Dell
laptop came with an OS Reinstallment DVD as well as a Drivers/Utilities
disk. Apparently some other makes do not include those upon purchasing.

Why is csrss.exe causing hard drive thrashing in Vista? I think I may
have had this in XP, too, but it is very noticable on this quiet Vista
Laptop.  I pinpoint it by checking Task Manager.  It happens
intermittantly - sometimes lasting for hours.  I have used online virus

there was a recent update that popped up, it took out my speakers.....  also  
my screen is turni g blue with white lines all over it, and I have to close
by power button.    And my microsoft keeps going down and not responding....  
It also gets overly hot.  I have it on a coolong ...

I am currentlu running Vista Ultimate SP1 with 4GB of RAM with Intel Q6600
quad CPU.  I have read that the 32 bit version (which I'm running) can only
see about 3GB although it reports 4GB.
Is there any reason why I should not consider moving to the 64 bit version?
