Most likely I misunderstood this issue right from the start. Question : When it comes to scheduled scanning, automatic updating etc, the computer has to be turned on , or else it will wait till it's on. Right or wrong ??

My computer seems to use too much memory at start up. I have two gigs of RAM and It uses 45% of that. So, I went to Defender and do not recognize all of the start up programs. How can I find out what they do? Like OSD Maestro? Or, I have three different Installshield pragrams ...

When try set associations of protocol HTTP and HTTPS at IE7 these protocols don't apears in list of protocols. But when I install another browser, like Safari, apears associated to Safari, but locked and when I ask to change preferencial program, IE7 is not

Yesterday, I purposely left notebook turned on and did not use it for about 15 minutes. When I went to Control Panel/Backup and Restore Center and then clicked on Restore Files, it stated: There are no backups available on this computer.

I'm truly curious to know why there is such a difference. My Dell laptop came with an OS Reinstallment DVD as well as a Drivers/Utilities disk. Apparently some other makes do not include those upon purchasing. Why is that ??

I am currentlu running Vista Ultimate SP1 with 4GB of RAM with Intel Q6600 quad CPU. I have read that the 32 bit version (which I'm running) can only see about 3GB although it reports 4GB. Is there any reason why I should not consider moving to the 64 bit version?
