The only problems I'm having on my Vista box involve IE7. There are two of them:
1. The dreaded "IE has stopped working" thing, mainly when I am attempt to leave the program
2. A very weird one. I will be doing nothing in particular when IE simply goes nuts and starts sprouting ...

When I close down an Internet browsing window, I get an error saying
"Internet Explorer has stopped working. A problem caused the window to stop

When I log in I get the "My Computer" window and nothing else.  No
background, no start menu or task bar or anything.  I can get all that
started by typing "Explorer" in the location line for the "My Computer"
window, but it's very annoying.  Any idea what to do about that?

installation.  Whether I start the computer in Safe Mode or regularly, the
explorer.exe process runs up my dual-core processors to 100%, or thereabouts.

I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.2 GHz.  One of the
cores show a 3% use and the other shows a 35%+ use all of the time.  I've
turned off off-line files.
It doesn't appear to show me what processors are using this CPU.  It looks

My mom-in-law recently got a new e-machine running Vista Premium. She was
