Whenever my sidebar activates it causes my computer to hang. All my previous gadgets have turned into the calendars and whenever I try to delete them it either freezes my computer or another calendar replaces the deleted one. What do I do?

Since SP1 this ~1 year old OEM installed Vista HP laptop has taken to BSOD'ing ~every workday when woken from sleep after moving from home to a wifi hotspot. MS' advice is to do a clean install of Vista... which would be such a pain

Vista used to boot up very quickly. Now it spends ages on the page with the "loading" bar. Is it performing some sort of CHKDSK during this time? I only have sidebar and rocket dock starting up, and it's fast again
