In Vista Ultimate the Windows Fax and Scan permits me to edit the fax
settings in tools but denies configuration or establishment of a fax
account.  A message is received to the effect that to set up a fax
account it is first necessary to set the fax settings for the modem.

Unfortunately, Vista does not allow me to install a printer as easily as XP
does.
With XP, the printer add-in wizard would allow me to specify a local network
printer by specifying its address, eg //computer_name/printer_name.

Does anyone know if HP has yet produced a driver for the 1012 LaserJet for
Vista?

I have a Notebook with Windows Vista Home Premium, and I am not able to
make my scanner work.
The software is up-to-date, but the scanning program says that the
scanner is not installed.

I have been unable to get my old printer up and going, worked for three hours
online with a HP tech, and tried about everything. Every time we made a
change, and asked for a test page, the message came up that a test page was
sent to the printer, but nothing printed.

I have a HP photosmart 1218 and have just brought a new rig which has a

I have a Thinkpad T60p that ships without a parallel port. As a result I get

While checking my Event Logs I ran across some SpoolerWin32SPL errors that
all say:
The print spooler failed to reopen an existing printer connection because it
could not read the configuration information from the registry key

If anyone has any thoughts on this it would be appreciated. I have
googled it and seached it here with no success.
