Recently I installed Windows Vista, like most of us. I didn't had the
upgrade option, so I did a full install.

Does anyone know if EFS in vista will be using AES or if it will be staying

I need help to turn off UAC. Unfortunately User Account Control Panel is not
working, because Turn On/Off UAC switch is not working (UAC is on, but the
switch is unchecked, when I check it, next time it's unchecked again and
nothing changes).

I am trying to access some of the registry keys through windows registry
editor, but I am not able to access them, though I am administrator on the
machine. I am not trying to modify any of the keys, I am just trying to read
those keys.

as we all know some app need Elevation by default,we can config the .manifest
file to do so .
but i can't config the .manifest file of the .cpl, or my cpl can't Elevation
with the manifest ;

after the Elevation of app how can i get the unElevation user's token?

     I have a XP machine in a NT domain and I have a Vista machine outside
domain. I shared a folder on XP machine and try to browse to the folder from
the Vista machine, it asks for the domain authentication and I authenticate
as normal and finally can open the folder and see ...

Something weird is going on in my Vista Ultimate July CTP install. Very
often, when I go to do certain things like change network connection
properties, install programs etc. I get an error message saying I dont have
enough rights OR I am not logged in as an administrator. ...

I am running Windows Vista ultimate July CTP. When I download MSN Messenger
from the website and try to install it, it says I dont have admin rights.
