BitLocker and hard drives using the T13/T10 TRUSTED commands11 Jul 2006 19:44 GMT5
This past week I tested one of our harddrives, a Momentus 5400 FDE, on Vista
5456. Vista could not find the drive, but since it was a "quckie" test I did
not have the time to do an indepth analysis. Is there any "known" issues
with newer drives that include full disc encryption ...

BitLocker: BootMgr kernel check before handoff?11 Jul 2006 19:30 GMT2
When using TPM, is there an integrity check performed on the kernel itself
before that final handoff from the BootMgr to the Vista kernel?
I know this may not be what BitLocker was designed for, but this seems like
a way to thwart kernel rootkits.
BitLocker: SmartCard support?11 Jul 2006 19:08 GMT1
Will BitLocker ever support keys stored on Smartcards to encrypt the VMK?
This would be a more secure way to carry the startup key around than by USB,
since the .BEK file is simply a hidden file, easily copied if the USB key is
used to share everyday data.

BitLocker: Is there a GPO option to forbid decryption/re-encryptio10 Jul 2006 19:29 GMT1
I see GPO settings to set options for BitLocker, such as mandating recovery
keys into AD or the level of encryption, but is there an option to keep a
user from decrypting the drive once it has been deployed to them as encrypted?
This applies to the case where a company policy ...
Vista: does BitLocker make a drive less tolerant of bad blocks?10 Jul 2006 19:20 GMT3
(before anyone says anything - I know I need to have good backups of my data
before embracing bitlocker)
Before BitLocker, if you lost a block, you may not notice a file loss, since
the file may not use the whole sector in which the block resides, but after
security problem when writing to windows application log10 Jul 2006 04:09 GMT2
