Everything I read consistently tells me that if UAC is enabled under Vista
(which it is on my PC) an ordinary application (post-install) which does not
have any kind of manifest at all, cannot write to the HKLM\Software area of
the registry.  Instead, what is supposed to happen ...

I am trying to turn on Bitlocker.  I have setup the drive and manually
changed the policies since I do not have TPM.  Now I am getting the error
message, "CANNOT RUN  The specified name either does not exist or cannot be

One of the best bits of advice you can be given when setting up a wireless
router is to hide the SSID (Netgear recommends this) and for quite some time
now, that is exactly what I've done, in addition to MAC address enabling and

I have read the technet document on Non Broadcast SSID and I understand why
you wouldn't want to use them.  But from a testing standpoint customers still

I understand the reason for UAC and don't mind it (that much). But I would
REALLY like to be able to add accepted files so I'm not always prompted.
A number of my aps ALWAYS ask for permission and I constantly allow.  Is
there any way to permanently accept these applications?
