I have just joined and while I was trying to find out how to post a question my grandmother's name popped up as a search result. I did not enter this and have never entered it anywhere on my computer. How did this happen?

My daughter computer with Vista is infected with the rogue software 'Personal Antivirus' but no matter what I do I cannot remove it. It is installed in C:\Program Files\PAV and Vista does not allow me to remove it. It says needs Administrator permission though I am Adminstrator ...

UAC on administrator account is disabled by default (it allways uses full token) How do I enable UAC on administrator, to make it like other members in administrators group ?

Running Vista Ultimate - I was ordered to disable UAC. Now I have the little red shield in the tray. How can I get rid of it for just the UAC notification? I still want it to bark at me when the virus defs (AVG) go out of date and it can't update for whatever reason.

I have somehow messed up permissions and now cannot access c:drive and everything I try and change has access denied. There is no obvious administrator and I can only see log in as a owner. This is a real problem as I cannot even move all my files to back up!

I know I'm probably late to this discussion. I recently let my daughter buy herself a laptop. I assumed that Parental controls would have the BASIC functionality of restricting TOTAL time, not just available hours in the day.

When I first boot my system, an account is available that isn't there when I look at User Accounts using an Administrator account. It's also not there when I Switch Users. How do I get rid of this account and why is it there on the initial login?
