I am trying to upgrade XP2 to Vista Ultimate but everytime I try the same
error occurs which looks like it has something to do with scecli.dll
I have had no problems doing a clean install using a spare drive so I assume
it must be something that is actually already installed on my ...

I recently purchased Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit. When I come to do a
clean install, it asks me for a CD / DVD driver.
After reading several topics in here, I discovered that it was looking for
the IDE controller drivers. I downloaded the vista ones and put them on cd.

OK well I need a break from trying to debug Vista I may as well vent.

Hi, I installed Windows Vista Home Premium on my Dell Inspiron successfully
on a partition (C:, 50GB) and I still have another 50GB unallocated space. I
am wondering how I can create a new partition in Vista to use the allocated
space.

I decided to take the leap and install a dual boot setup.......except;
FYI, I (had) a Raid1 mirror setup (Silcon Image 3114) BUT I made a
mistake/error of removing all my Nvidia display drivers (as requested by

to transfer the operating system rights from my old pc and will remove it
from the hard drive.

When I select install on Vista I get the following message:
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing.  If you have a driver
floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB Flash Drive, please insert it now"
My CD/DVD drives are standard IDE drives, so I can't imagine they need any

I have DELL OPTIPLEX GX620 PC. It has 64-Bit hardware. I installed Windows
VISTA Ultimate (X64) and after that audio driver is failing to install.
