I recently purchased Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit. When I come to do a clean install, it asks me for a CD / DVD driver. After reading several topics in here, I discovered that it was looking for the IDE controller drivers. I downloaded the vista ones and put them on cd.

Hi, I installed Windows Vista Home Premium on my Dell Inspiron successfully on a partition (C:, 50GB) and I still have another 50GB unallocated space. I am wondering how I can create a new partition in Vista to use the allocated space.

I decided to take the leap and install a dual boot setup.......except; FYI, I (had) a Raid1 mirror setup (Silcon Image 3114) BUT I made a mistake/error of removing all my Nvidia display drivers (as requested by MS Vista Upgrade Advisor!).

When I select install on Vista I get the following message: "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB Flash Drive, please insert it now" My CD/DVD drives are standard IDE drives, so I can't imagine they need any
