I have upgraded from XP to Vista Ultimate--all of my files are gone.  I
do not have a C:\Windows.old file nor are any of my files located in
the $INPLACE.~TR or $WINDOWS.~Q files.  When I do a search on a file
name it finds a shortcut to the file instead.

Installed the open source ffshow package for Vista, using the defaults.
Still, no DIVX movie will play.  Weather via a browser, WMP or Media
Player Classic, the indication is that the codec is not installed.
What needs to be done to activiate ffshow for this purpose?  Others
