1. disable the Search Box below. Anyone an idea how to do this?
2. I am not using the recently used programs tab (it's empty) in the start

I picked up vista on monday and haven't been able to get it to load.  I
can get my computer to have the "windows is loading files" bar go up to

I've installed VUA - downloaded yesterday from MS.com - on a Dec 06
Amilo laptop - new versions have Vista.  VUA installs OK but on
scanning stops and advises me to download the latest VUA!!  Is it
worth persisting with VUA or just go ahead and try installing Vista???

I am trying to set up Vista in a clean uncluttered way.  There are a
TON of areas where MS has deemed it that I have to hunt for ways to
turn on/off features that I dont need.  Most of these are 100%
redundant and do nohting but clutter up the screen and reduce the

detect the new drive, vista does not detect it. I'm wondering is this drive

I received Vista Ultimate as part of the Friends and Family Beta.  I tried
it out on my Tablet PC for about 3 weeks, but I think I want to go back to
the XP Tablet PC edition.
I would like to install this Vista Ultimate edition on a brand new computer
