We are using WDS with WIM images for Vista deployments, but we still need some XPs until we upgrade our hardware. Can we create a WIM image from an XP installation? If so, can we use PE2.0 to apply it?

I've got a screaming new Dell XPS desktop with Vista Home Premium. Wish I had the forsight to have purchased this with Ultimate (I'm an "IT Guy" - and there are features in this that I need at home), but I didn't so I purchased the Windows Anytime Upgrade from Microsoft.

i have a dell dimension 9200 with windows vista CD and CD key stuck to side but also have a Dell vista CD that dosen't need a CD key to install and work without a problem (no-cd key no-activation needed)this copy will updates and passes windows WGA

Upgrading from Windows 2000. Launching from within 2000 asks me to boot from the DVD to repartition. Launching from the DVD tells me that I need to start the installation from the installed OS. Seems I am locked out for repartitioning with Windows Home Vista Premium
