Hi.  I just bought a new PC with Vista Home Premium 64-bit.  I have an Intel
Conroe 6700 and 8-gig of RAM... so I have the HARDWARE working great.  I am
coming from an XP Professional PC.  I bought the Belkin Xfer cable, installed
the software, followed directions... and my files ...

I recently had to install vista on a new hard drive after my other one failed
(got it RMA'd). Now its telling me I have to re-register or something-I tried
the product key on the Vista box, but it isn't accepting it. Nothing else has
changed in the system, just the hard drive.

My friend put on a non-genuine copy of vista ULTIMATE on my laptop. It kept
asking me to activate with the product key, but as this was not genuine i

also install it on my laptop.  I was able to install it on the laptop as well
for a short time  but just recently it advised that the copy was not genuine.

vista installed and runs fine. i am only user and administrator, but some
apps (like google toolbar) can't be installed (says windows installer not
installed correctly), while others that were installed (Adobe Acrobat 8.0)
can' be uninstalled.  What's the fix?

I recently registered my ultimate upgrade after the first attempt failed
resulting in my "clean installing" as I lost my xp pro due to having
formatted the hd. It would not could not find bootmngr!!!!
My registration went ok but today I got a message to "register again"! Tried

I bought a copy of Vista Home Premium for the wife.
I built a new PC for her from components from 2 yr old P4s.
I acivated Vista, no probs.
But, I now realise:

Shortly after introduction I bought an HP with VISTA premium installed.  I
originally set up three "profiles" for wife, personal (primary) and business.
When I clicked on Windows Mail a box in mid-screen asked me to click on

I have always had a message at start-up telling me that CTHelper application
has failed and is closing..
Do I need CTHelper? If not how do I stop the message?

I've read the instructions for dual-booting Vista/XP. I have 2 hard drives
(SATA); the one with Vista is a 400 Gb with 80 Gb for Vista and another
partition for the rest. The second is an 80 GB drive.

You regulars know that questions about installing XP after
Vista are very common.  The major problem is that Vista's
boot manager needs to be re-installed afterwards to allow
dual booting between XP and Vista.
