I recently had to install vista on a new hard drive after my other one failed (got it RMA'd). Now its telling me I have to re-register or something-I tried the product key on the Vista box, but it isn't accepting it. Nothing else has changed in the system, just the hard drive.

vista installed and runs fine. i am only user and administrator, but some apps (like google toolbar) can't be installed (says windows installer not installed correctly), while others that were installed (Adobe Acrobat 8.0) can' be uninstalled. What's the fix?

You regulars know that questions about installing XP after Vista are very common. The major problem is that Vista's boot manager needs to be re-installed afterwards to allow dual booting between XP and Vista.
