I have recently upgraded my hard drive and installed vista ultimate 64 bit on it but it says my windows key is in use elsewhere? i have my old hdd here which vista was on and it has been formatted. I have the real oem version of windows ultimate

Howdy, Folks, When putting a new motherboard in a system, in previous versions of Windows it was possible to do a repair installation by booting from the CD. This prevented losing system settings and having to reinstall applications. See:

Did the upgrade from XP PRO to Ultimate using a full retail and it appears that my old Windows is in a folder titled: $WINDOWS.~Q, there is no Windows old folder anywhere. There is also a folder $INPLACE.~TR and one titled $Recycle.Bin . Is it safe to delete all three of these? ...

Please help.. There are two primary partitions. On the first is Windows XP. On the second is Windows Vista. To start an operating system, i just made its partition active.

I have been having problems with computer not going to sleep, tried many things but in end gave up. Yesterday there was a very large number of downloads and now computer goes to sleep with no problems. Anyone know if they have now rectifieed problem.
