I have a HP Pavilion with 2 SATA harddrives. Vista is pre-installed on
HD0. Now I want to add an XP install and I consider different ways to do
  it:
 - Partition HD0 in two parts, install XP on the new logical drive

I changed my motherboard from an amd 2800
I changed my motherboard from an asus a7v600 with athlonxp2800 to an intel
3.2gb dual core on a asrock mb but it would not let me boot giving me an
<windows root>system 32\hal.dll missing I had to reinstall vista on another

Have two sound problems one minor and one major.
Minor:
  I am on dial up and when I dial up no sound of dialing.
Major:

I inadvertently tried to install the stand alone version of .Net framework
on Vista before I realized that Vista is shipped with it. I think I messed
something up because when I go to Programs and Features - it is not listed
there in the installed applications. Also I did a check ...

Is there a way to "Load Driver" from a Script / Batch File / Command Line /
WMI / API ?
If yes: how ?
Per example: Load a Driver for Intel SATA RAID.

1. Was running XP on C:.
2. Vista installed on D:
3. Dual boot (which surprised me!)
4. A lesson learned (do not upgrade older PC's to Vista)

I have the driver cd for my printer Lexmark 5400. Vista says that the driver

The mother board went out in my computer, so I just bought a whole new

I'm trying to setup a 32 bit Vista Enterprise system with Bitlocker turned
using a USB device -
I'm almost there -  But I can not get past the below error -
When I set finish setting up the bitlocker,  I'm asked to reboot -

Having transferred all programs from my old XP laptop to a new Vista32, I
find I now have 2 administrator accounts. Some of the programs and documents

Folk'ses,
I got a new Dell E521 with an AMD 64 X2 and 4GB of RAM.
SInce Dell ships it with only 32-bit system and went and bought a 64-bit
version (to actually be able to use the memory and CPU power).

I like to program my PC to shut down automatically after I had completed my
Norton virus scan.
My PC is currently running on Window XP Home Edition.

I've failed to troubleshoot this problem on my own for the last four days.  
After clean install of Vista Home Premium as the the only OS on the drive,
Vista will eventually BSOD.  Upon restart, Vista fails to start and gives the
following message:

SAS 9.13 is not compatible with Vista and SAS 9.20, which is compatible with
Ultimate, is due for release in 2008.
I have the Dell installation CD for XP media center 2005 and an academic
update to Vista and academic Office Pro 2007.
