I have an external HD that I do not always turn on. I basically use it for backup purposes. How will "activation" handle this?? Should I turn it on or off during activation? H*ll, I don't want to reactivate every time I turn it on or off!

I just tried to upgrade an XP installation to Ultimate and encountered an error in the Expanding Files phase. (Also when it went into rollback mode, that also failed and I ended up deleting the installer's temp files and fixing the MBR by hand).
