I've read what I can see about this BOOTSECT.BAK file but I really can't
understand why it's there on my root drive. I've formatted the whole drive
from the recovery console on XP, deleted all partitions and still Vista is

hi.. i just bought Acer aspire 5920. it came with windows vista original.
yesterday i decided to install XP using slipstreamed XP + sata driver, it
works but now it doesnt detect any windows vista. everytime i restart, it
just load windows XP, it should be an option to load vista ...

I have Vista Enteprise in English and I want to install an additional
language (Italian in my case).
I know how to do it with Vista Ultimate (downloading the Language Pack with

Hi all, I was searching around but wasn't able to find an answer to this
question but hopefully it should be a quick yes/no from someone knowledgeable.

I just upgraded to Vista Ultimate with one-step update. Some of the default
folder locations for temp files were changed and after problems with ActiveX
I returned to the defaults.

I have an external HD that I do not always turn on. I basically use it
for backup purposes. How will "activation" handle this?? Should I turn
it on or off during activation? H*ll, I don't want to reactivate every
