I am trying to do a clean install of Vista Ultimate on a new Seagate 320GB
drive. I have an Intel D875PBZ MB with a 8280ER ICH5R SATA controller. The
upgrade advisor says that this config is okay and the installation can see
the drive and even  deleted a partition and formated ...

I had a temp *_HDD_* problem which made me install *_my_* copy of Vista
onto a temp *_hdd_*.
once this issue was solved i installed my OS onto my proper *_HDD_*.
However i discovered that i had forgot to reorder my Boot disk priority

It was there and working properly went to install a game and the thing is
missing from My Computer ????

I am trying to figure out why my system is doing this and have been
unsuccessful so far, so I thought I would try here.
I am running a Dell XPS 400 box; P4 3.0 Ghz with 3 MB Ram. OS was upgraded
to Vista Home Premium and also upgraded Video Card to ATI Radeon X1950 Pro

My original desktop had XP pro 32 bit
it died
i bought a Dell with Vista Home premium installed (32 bit on a 64 bit

I am having trouble with my product key.  I recently bought a new laptop and
when i was trying to installed it to use Microsoft Word it told that the
product key is wrong.

I changed the drive routines for the keyboard to be able to use japanese
characters (to someting called USB Office-something 106/109) but then the
mouse and the keyboard froze and now I can't do anything to make it work.
I'm using another computer right now to be able to right ...

I have played pogo games on all my other computers, however on this crap
vista it keeps telling me java not found or enabled and to download the
latest version of sun java which I have done. How do I enable java as my
default.

Hi, I got my Vista allready installed when I bought my Computer. Which Mean I
don't have any CD or DVD to boot from. A guy on another community wrote that
it is possible to burn out these DVDs straight from Vista. How do I do this?

First, I used Easy Transfer Companion (beta) with the USB Easy Transfer
(Belkin) cable to transfer (successfully) programs from my old XP (SP2)
computer to my new Vista Home Premium computer.
Then, attempting to transfer files & settings using Easy Transfer, it starts

Sorry folks.  I've gone back to XP.  No more messing with One Care, System
Administrator, blocked programs, hardware that won't work, software that
won't open, Vista mail that's not compatible with OE6. and the list goes on.
I know, it's a big learning curve for the faint at ...

I have tried several times to upgrade to Vista from XP.  I get a message
"Windows could not update the computer's boot configuration.  Installation
cannot proceed".  
I have tried using your suggestions to another user with the same problem

It worked fine a few hours ago. I don't know what I did but now it just does
what Alt+TAB would do in WinXP. I can't seem to find the solution in the Help
& Support... With all the improvement you'd think it'd be there.
